…or is “Polar Vortex” a 2014 term?
I don’t know where you are at in the world right now, but if you are in the U.S. there’s a good chance you’re trying to keep warm this week. I have a love/hate relationship with cold weather. I only love it if I don’t have to leave the house. So, most of the time I have a strong dislike for the bitter cold temps. This is a picture of a Kansas sunrise I took last week.
Now… back to YARN! I really wanted to post a new blog every two weeks. But, my two week goal has turned to four weeks. Goodness! Where does time go! I haven’t even been able to crochet as much the last few weeks. I am still working on the mint green and white baby afghan (in my last post). I made a lot of progress on it, but I was getting tired of looking at it. So, I put it aside for now to work on a navy and mint green baby afghan, it’s coming along nicely.
I’m working on writing a pattern for this. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. Or… maybe it’s just me making it harder than what it really is! Either way, I will post it when I have it written.
With the cold temperatures my mind thinks of those who don’t have heat, a warm bed or a home. I really think that yarn can warm the soul. If you love to crochet (or knit or quilt or whatever) just for the fun of it, please consider donating a blanket or afghan that you have made to a local charity. Maybe you personally know a family that could use one. If you don’t, I’ve posted a link below of a list of places to donate to. (Not all of them on the list are for afghan donations.) And if you are an animal lover, consider making something for animals at your local humane society.
And last, but not least… my latest yarn purchases!
